I like to see a glimpse of what comes after the HEA.Brief Summary of Book: Highlander Unchained (MacLeods of Skye Trilogy, #3) by Monica McCarty I also wish (as I did with the first book) that there had been an epilogue. It just seemed to grab my attention more.I did think the issue with Ailig's parentage was a little too glossed over, it needed more of an explanation. There weren't any stupid misunderstandings to keep them apart, and I did appreciate that.I enjoyed reading about the clan and Ailig's attempt to take over as Chief, more than reading about the romance. I liked Ailig and Morainn, but didn't feel any deep connection between them other than attraction. more g for a bit of an update.The romance wasn't all that interesting. And since I mentioned the first book, let me just say that I hate that there was barely a mention of the characters from the first book. Review 2: I didn't like this book as much as the first one in this series. This book had all three in addition to remarkable characters. The Scottish names and descriptions of things added a great deal to the story.Indicators of a good book are when I don't want to put it down, I feel as though I'm there and/or I don't want it to end. Although this was the second book in the series, it was a stand alone book.It had intrigue, mystery, great characters and a marvelous writing style. Review 1: I haven't read anything by this author and was pleasantly surprised with this terrific book.
